The Vista Strawberry Festival is taking place in Historic Downtown Vista from 8am-7pm on Sunday, May 27th, 2012. The event, sponsored by Tri-City Medical Center, includes a 5k Run/Walk, 1 mile Kids Run, cooking & strawberry pie eating contests, strawberry costume contest, “Ms. strawberry Shortcake” contest, community demonstrations, vendors, rides, music, food and more!

Vista, once known as the “Strawberry Capital of the World”, is still home to many of the strawberry fields in San Diego County. The Vista Strawberry Festival is the only one of its kind in San Diego. The event drew over 40,000 attendees in 2011, and is expected to be just as popular this year as well.
