Mingei Family Sunday

Family Sunday at Mingei International Museum

Mingei International Museum, located within Balboa Park, in San Diego, hosts a fun Family Sunday the 3rd Sunday of each month. Animalistic Fun!

This month the Family Sunday focus will be Animals! The San Diego Zoo will be bringing two different animals to present to attendees for a special animal encounter at 1pm! (So cool!) Aside from the animal presentations, Aunt Li-Anne, a storyteller whose created original stories inspired by the new Mingei Museum animal exhibit, Menagerie – Artful Animals from the Permanent Collection, will be telling stories aloud at both 2:30pm and 3:15pm. The Mingei never leaves out a fun hands-on project on Family Sunday, so you can expect to be creative by making an original animal-inspired art project with artist Lisa Alvarez throughout the afternoon!

Save The Date!

Family Sunday will take place from Noon-4pm on Sunday, May 19th, 2013. We’ve truly enjoyed the ones we’ve attended, and you can’t beat the price! It’s a great deal, and they always have fun activities for the little ones. This month sounds exceptionally fun, and just what our kids are into: Animals, Storytime, & Hands-On Art Projects!
