Chargers Training Camp
Let’s Go Chargers, Let’s Go (clap-clap-clap)!!! Did you know that attending Chargers Training Camp is FREE?!? Yep, there’s absolutely no fee to attend one of the San Diego Chargers Training Camp events at the Chargers training facility, on Murphy Canyon Rd., in San Diego.
We attended our first Chargers Training Camp last year, in 2013. Going to Camp allows the fans to get a different perspective than they would watching the team at Qualcomm Stadium. It’s a much more intimate setting; often with opportunities to meet some of the Chargers players after practice.
TIPS FOR ATTENDING CHARGERS TRAINING CAMP
Arrive early, so you can park your vehicle somewhat close to Camp. If you arrive for Camp close to the start of training, you may very well have to walk a LONG distance. I believe security allows people to enter the gates one hour prior to practice time.
Wear Comfortable Shoes
I suggest wearing walking comfortable shoes. Even if you do get park relatively close, you will still have a bit of a walk to the viewing area once you enter Chargers Park.
Bring A Hat
There isn’t much shade at Chargers Training Camp, so it’s a good idea to bring a hat for everyone attending. I also suggest sunglasses, and I personally wouldn’t go without sunscreen, either.
Show Your Spirit
Wear your Chargers attire, if you have any! It’s a great opportunity to show your team spirit, and get pumped up for the upcoming football season!
Bring Things To Get Autographed
If you have a poster, picture, football, or something you want autographed, bring it! Many players head over to the fence to greet the fans after practice, giving you the opportunity to get autographs. I also suggest bringing your own Sharpie, or similar marker.
Bring A Camera
You’re allowed to take pictures before, during, and after Chargers Training Camp, so be sure to bring a camera! You never know you may even be able to get a shot with your favorite player(s)!
Bring Food and Drinks
You’re allowed to bring a variety of food and beverages to Chargers Training Camp, so bring a snack bag! Food and beverages are also sold on site. No alcohol is allowed, making it extremely family-friendly!
Be sure to check the Chargers official website for dates and times of Chargers Training Camp, as well as what you can and cannot bring with you. Attending a day of Camp can be a really neat thing to do with kids. Perhaps we’ll see you there!
