Disney Maleficent Movie Printables Plus Film Review
Powerful and dark, yet surprisingly witty and heartwarming at times, Disney’s new movie Maleficent struck me by surprise. I went into my pre-screening thinking it would be a film enjoyed more by some of my readers than myself, but I was mistaken. I absolutely loved it.
Maleficent takes you on a journey into the lives of the characters prior to, during, and after, that which you know from the classic story “Sleeping Beauty“.
Angelina Jolie plays the lead role of Maleficent, and she does an AMAZING job portraying the character. She was absolutely perfect for the role. All of the acting in the film was superb, the set was incredible, and the animated features were just as top notch as you would expect from Disney.
My 6 year old son and 9 year old daughter were both hesitant to join me to see Maleficent in the theater. They had both seen previews, and thought they might be scared. After seeing it on the big screen, in 3D nonetheless, I would have to agree that they made the right decision. Not all young kids would have a difficult time with it, in fact, I took one of my daughter’s best friends, who is also 9, and she loved it. She had seen an extended preview at Disney California Adventure Park, and couldn’t wait to see the full length film on the big screen!
In my personal opinion, I would say a minimum age of 8 would be appropriate for children that enjoy action-thriller films with mild violence. I believe my 9 year old made a good choice not seeingit on the big screen. I think she would be okay watching it at home on DVD, so we’ll wait for her to see it once it’s released as such. You know your own child’s comfort zone.

Maleficent, which is rated PG, opens in 3D in theaters on May 30th, 2014. I think a lot of adults will love this film, and I that it could be a fun date night movie. Perhaps I’ll talk my husband into taking me back as such to see it again!
Many thanks to Walt Disney Studios for inviting us to preview Maleficent prior to release in theaters. Our opinions are our own.
