Lots To See & Do At The Los Angeles Arboretum!
The Los Angeles Arboretum & Botanic Garden is located in Arcadia, California, on the grounds of the historic Rancho Santa Anita. It’s a great place to walk around, and explore. The Arboretum encompasses 127 acres, and has many different plants, birds, and fun things to see such as a pond, waterfall, and outbuildings.
Many Hollywood Scenes Filmed Here
Many scenes from movies and TV have been filmed here, some of which are spotlighted inside the barn. Be sure to take a walk through it. You might also recognize the historic Queen Anne Cottage, from the late TV show, Fantasy Island.
A Pond, Birds, Turtles, & More
Our kids really enjoy visiting the Los Angeles Arboretum. One of their favorite things to see are the turtles in Baldwin Pond. They also love seeing all peacocks, peahens ducks, and area where the old adobe house is located.
Nice Walking Paths For Outdoor Exploration
You can easily push a stroller or jogger through the paths, trails, and walkways here. You’ll want to wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes. Since you’ll be outside, you might also want to bring hats, and sunscreen.
Way To Save On Entry
The Los Angeles Arboretum is part of the reciprocal admission program through the American Horticultural Society, which grants you free entry with your reciprocal membership. (That’s how we’ve visited each time!) If you don’t have a reciprocal membership, you might be interested in visiting on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, when the Los Angeles Arboretum is absolutely FREE! Also, children under five are always free, and students with ID and seniors receive a discounted admission.
Spend The Day Or Explore Less
If you’ve never been before, you could spend at least 4 or more hours walking around, but you always have the option to explore less. The Los Angeles Arboretum has a cafe, and two designated eating areas, if you wish to buy some food while you visit. Perhaps we’ll see you there!
