Disney On Ice ~ Let’s Celebrate!

Disney On Ice is coming to San Diego’s Valley View Casino Center (formerly San Diego Sports Arena) from Wednesday, January 26th through Sunday, January 30th, 2011. The current performance is “Let’s Celebrate!”, and my daughter and I are SUPER excited to go see it! Disney On Ice has become a mother-daughter tradition for us since she was a toddler.

Many people don’t know, but the opening night performance is discounted to about 1/2 off, plus convenience and facility fees. Buying discounted tickets for opening night has been a great way for us to get better seats than those I would usually purchase. It also leaves us with some left over “fun money” to spend at the event.

I checked Ticketmaster, and as of 10:30am on opening night, which is tonight (1/26/11), there are STILL tickets available! You can get tickets for as low as $8 each plus the extra fees. If you were to buy the least expensive seats for two family members to attend, it would only cost you $29, plus parking. This is about what you’d pay going to the movies.

If you cannot make the opening night of the event, you may be able to buy tickets for a discount buy buying in bulk at a group rate, or with an on-line discount code. I’ve seen some codes here and there, but I bought my tickets far in advance, so I didn’t have a need to check into any codes. I saw the code Minnie in a discount mailer we received (Sorry, I don’t recall which home mailer.). You might want to try it, or the code Disney, and see if either work. Check the Valley View Casino Center website for info about group rates.

Here are a few things that you might like to know prior to attending:
• You start paying for children once they reach age 2, even if they still sit on your lap.
• There are tons of Disney products for sale at the event. Just an FYI that you might want to bring some of that “fun money” I stated above. : )
• Be sure to dress warm, as it can be chilly in the arena with the ice.
• They do not allow food, drinks, video cameras, etc.. See more HERE:

Tickets are available at the Valley View Casino Center box office, or through Ticketmaster. Just to give you a head’s up, you’re still charged convenience fees if you go to the box office and purchase the tickets there. I think this is a new thing, because I don’t recall paying them when purchasing them face to face in the past. Have fun!
