Teddy Bear Tea Time At The Westgate
My grandmother was British, and passed along many English traditions to my mom. My mom in turn shared many of those traditions with me, including enjoying an occasional Afternoon Tea. She and I enjoyed many nice Mother-Daughter Teas together, but and I was super excited to carry on the tradition with my daughter when we received an invitation to Teddy Bear Tea Time at The Westgate Hotel!
Aside from it being our first experience of Tea Time at The Westgate, it was also our first visit to this extraordinary establishment. It’s absolutely gorgeous inside! Little did I know, prior to our visit, that it was designed in the style of some of the grand palaces of Europe. They even have a desk in the lobby, used by the concierge, which was acquired from the Palace of Versailles!
My daughter and I attended a Teddy Bear Tea, held over the holidays. This Tea included a light fare, with tastes suitable for younger palettes. The menu included cocoa for the kids, plus tea sandwiches, scones, pastries, and delicious fresh berries for all. One of the delicacies served to the adults included caviar. It was held in a beautiful room with adorable teddy bears plus pretty fresh flowers and decor. We both LOVED it!
Other Teas offered at The Westgate Hotel include Easter Bunny Teas, Mother’s Day Teas, Christmas Teas, and other Specialty Teas. Weekly Afternoon Teas are available Friday-Sunday. Private Teas are also available for groups. I believe menu items similar to that which my daughter and I had at our Tea, are served at each of the Specialty Tea times. Call the hotel to verify the menu(s).
