The LEGO® Movie, Where “Everything Is Awesome!”
Our kids are HUGE fans of LEGO®, and after months and months of anticipation, we received an invitation to a media viewing of The LEGO® Movie. We were already familiar with the characters, and we even got to see the main ones, Emmet and Wyldstyle, when they made a surprise visit to LEGOLAND® California for the Celebrity Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony a month and a half prior.
About The Film
The LEGO® Movie is a full-length computer-animated comedic-adventure shown in 3D. The story follows Emmet, an ordinary, very “average” LEGO® minifigure who is mistaken as THE most extraordinary person in the world, and is thought to be the key to saving it. Emmet finds himself grossly unprepared for his newfound glory, and is often completely unfocused at the task at hand as he daydreams of Wyldstyle, the beautiful, and tough-as-nails minifigure who guides him on his epic journey.
Many Recognizable Voices
The film is filled with recognizable voices, including Chriss Pratt as the voice of Emmet, Will Ferrel as President Business, Elizabeth Banks as Wyldsyle, Liam Neeson as Bad Cop/Good Cop, and Morgan Freeman as Virtuvius, to name a few.
LEGO® Sets Come To Life!
If you or your kids are LEGO® fans, you’re sure to recognize many familiar sets featured in the film, which is super fun. Those not familiar with LEGO® sets are sure to enjoy it just the same. I was personally amazed at the animation, and how they portrayed what it might be like to actually LIVE in the world of LEGO®, where “Everything Is Awesome“.
The LEGO® Movie had each of us laughing, and in my opinion is good for kids age 5+, teens, and adults. It’s rated PG, and as mentioned above, is shown in 3D. The film opens in theaters across the U.S. on February 7th, 2014. For more information about the movie, and to check out fun games, downloads, and more, visit The Official LEGO® Movie Website. Our kids loved it, and want to see it again. Perhaps we’ll see you there!
